What did you learn with regard to your social justice project during your presentation?
I learned that my library, the Clifton Public Library, could be doing a whole lot more to help the community than they currently are. In both of these articles the researchers expressed a desire to make real change within their communities. Whether it be through academic institutions or through library programming. I was very impressed with the authors of both of these articles because they inspired me to think outside the box and work harder.The authors in the second article were able to inspire their community to do more programming and get more involved. They also shed light on existing programs. I hope to be able to do the same kind of work with the immigrant population in my community.
